espresso with a blade grinder
While waiting for a new grinder to arrive, I’m using a technique I came up with years ago to make espresso with a blade grinder. I call it the “cocktail shaker” method. I started doing this around 11 years ago while saving up for a decent grinder. Now my grinder is dead, waiting for a Helor to arrive tomorrow. So I figured I show my old process.
Yes, I know it’s a terrible idea. It produces way too much fines, and possibly causes more wear on solenoids in 3-way valve espresso machines. It is also an imprecise method and not at all a good way to produce consistent results. It will almost never produce a decent shot, but to me it’s still better than the alternatives. 😛
